"Stay here if you can!”
Jan 3, 2010
I had a lovely stay at Dreamcatchers - Annabel and her daughter Sammy made me feel so comfortable and welcomed me into their home. The house and rooms are spacious and beautifully designed. The epic breakfasts alone are worth staying for - you wouldn't think it would make a difference but it does! I stayed there over Christmas and we had a delicious dinner on Christmas Eve and they even gave me a present, which I was really touched by. The staff there are so nice - from Khun Ben who helped me hire a motorbike and let me follow her while I got used to it to Sum Chai (hope I've spelled that right) and Khun La. It is a little way out of town but actually I found that to be a benefit - also either Ben, Annabel or her nice neighbour Khun Air offer a taxi service into town. Annabel had great recommendations for things to do and see in and around Chiang Mai. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere at Dreamcatchers - I wholeheartedley recommend staying there.
We will be back for certain!!

You will not regret staying here for one moment. We have extended our booking and still find it hard to leave It is wonderful here. Delicious food. Breakfast is so good, you will wonder "What have I done to deserve this?" The snacks and dinners are so good you will want to have more, but you won't be able to. Thai food, American food and Italian - all the same delicious foods which are prepared with love and care. If you like the photographs, in reallity it is even more beautiful. It is a real oasis here, you feel like Royalty but at the same time you feel at home. Annabel is a very sweet, caring host and nothing is too much trouble for her. Her daughter is a delight too and Annabel's Thai staff are excellent with good English and very obliging. All reviews here on zoover and trip adviser say the same: this has been an unforgetable experience, a dream come true. Therefore dreamcatchers really do work!!! Oh yes - the jacuzzi is a real bonus! So don't doubt, just indulge!!!!

Anabel and Sam are the warmest of hosts and the staff at the B &B couldn't be kinder or more polite. They were incredibly helpful in organizing intimate and professional tours of the region's attractions.
Their charming home is spotless and as comfortable as your favorite sweater. I can't think of staying anywhere else in Chiang Mai.
Splurge a little and get the junior suite with outdoor jacuzzi and lush tropical views.

It may seem obvious, to vacationers that travel is a lot of work but many people don’t check out the alternatives when finding a place to stay. This is your vacation and you are entitled to have moments to relax. Dream Catchers is the best place in all of Chiang Mai to cast off your worries relax and enjoy vacationing. When thinking of a place to stay consider not being in the downtown, With the endless cars, motorbikes and smell of a large city.
As with any vacation stay, it is the owner who can make things the best. Annabel makes dream catchers a dream. With her friendly warm reception on arrival and a staff making your stay memorable right from the beginning.
Stay here a week or a night and you will be filled with opportunities to learn of Thailand's great north country. Annabel had traveled the world and built her own B&B with only the best of materials in a Thai style.
I was in need of a retreat to enjoy a simpler life after a hectic year and stayed almost a month. This is minutes from the city yet still close enough to get in and out.
I have now discovered a place in Chiang Mai I will have to return to. Thanks again Annabel, Samantha and all the fine people at Dream Catchers.
"A wonderful introduction to Thailand”
Oct 3, 2009
Beautiful place not too close to Chang Mai. Our hostess was lovely AND COULDN'T DO ENOUGH FOR US. All her workers were also lovely, rooms beautiful and place very clean. Food was good and plenty of it. We have been recommending Dreamcatchers to our friends.
"Hidden gem with a great feel perfect for couples or families and friends”
Oct 2, 2009
We travelled as two families of 5 with mostly teenagers and stayed two nights 3 days. We filled the place so had it to ourselves. We wished we had stayed longer. Host Annabelle and staff could not have done more for us. Airport transfers, evening transport and meals all organised with enthusiasm. This beautifully architectual building is in the Thai style, with comfortable air flow walkways, vaulted roofs and high timber lined ceilings with fan and air con and well appointed, suitable for Chiang Mai climate. Pool with amazing sandstone elephant wall waterfall and cabana were private and perfect for relaxation. We found it a fantasic retreat to begin our Thai action tour. Located in a nice outer area of Chiang Mai we found its position perfect for a true Thai feel with a nice elegant touch. A truly memorable experience!
"Personal atmosphere in elegant surroundings”
Oct 1, 2009
The B&B is outside of Chiang Mai, but not too far. In fact, it is in a quiet, green and well-groomed area. A taxi cab to the center of town is about 200 THB (about 4 €).
It has a wonderful, not too big pool with an elefant "waterfall" next to it, creating a relaxing atmosphere.
The owner has three well-behaved and quiet dogs. The rooms are very clean, they have air con but also lots of windows with fly-screens - if you like a breeze. One of the rooms even has a jacuzzi.
The owner will arrange for Thai massage at the hotel and will even book adventure tours for you.
"All to ourselves”

Had a great time at the Dreamcatchers B&B where we were very well hosted by Annabel and her daughter. They were very attentive and even went out of their way to mail us our forgotten swimming trunks to Bangkok in time for our flight back. The grounds were great, the staff was helpful, even sewing my pants for free. Overall the architecture and room were fantastic. The breakfast spread was great and we got very personalized attention. Annabel and daughter's cooking was excellent and a great value. Even the mini-bar food was a great value as well. The only thing to note is that it is outside of Chiang Mai proper so I recommend a car rental or getting the number of the recommended taxi services. Annabel is also available to give you ride into town for a fee, which was easy for us as we were the only ones to stay in the B&B at the time.

"Peaceful Dreamcathers was highlight of Chiang Mai trip”
Jul 19, 2009
Our family had a lovely stay at Dreamcatchers July 14-17, 2009. Our party consisted of myself, husband, our 4 year old and 7 month old, and our nanny.
We originally booked the Queen and Twin rooms. Due to our and other guests’ changing schedules, we were upgraded to the King Suite. Our nanny slept in Annabel’s daughter’s room (she was away) while the 4 of us slept in the King Suite on a King bed and a full/queen size pullout sofa.
Before we got there and during our stay there, Annabel was helpful, friendly, relaxed and approachable. She is a natural with children and my 4 year old liked her instantly. She makes yummy crepes and a mean homemade yogurt (yes, try it). She did everything just right. Staying at Dreamcatchers gives you a chance to unwind and let out a sigh of contentment. No, its not a super sexy boutique hotel. It’s a lived-in home designed by someone with a good eye. The house looks lovely yet is cozy at the same time. The property was breezy and green. We could hear birds chirping. The pool area was awesome with hammock swings and overlooking green trees. The King Suite was filled with natural light during the day and was super spacious. Our kids had a blast splashing around in its outdoor Jacuzzi.
Dreamcatchers is located about 15 minutes away from the city, so you do have to be more careful about planning your comings and goings to the city. For example, it took 1 hour to summon a cab 1 time when we decided to go the city on a whim. And we called the same cab driver 20 minutes before we were ready to go back home to give him time to get to the pick up location. Not a problem, but just an FYI.

An excellent B&B! Annabel creates a most wonderful and comfortable ambiance for her guests and cooks up fabulous breakfasts. A home away from home. This is definitely the place to stay if you're vacationing in Chiang Mai.
Fantastic house with a great host!
Jun 13, 2009
My stay at Dreamcatchers was lovely. The house is fantastic and rooms have attention paid to every last detail. The owner has decorated the house with amazing art and antiques from all over Asia and it is comforting and peaceful. The lighting is another high point of the spacious rooms with great reading, desk, and spot lights. Annabel is a great host and an excellent cook. She is happy to accommodate your breakfast wishes and by all means, don't miss the banana crepes. YUM!!! Annabel is full of great tips about Chiang Mai and will help you with transportation to the city, in fact, she frequently offered to be your taxi when her busy schedule allows. The infinity pool is ultra relaxing and kept spotlessly clean. Have a great time at this wonderful spot!
"Why didn't I book more time there?"
May 13, 2009
Had I known that I was going to be in paradise I would have cancelled a leg or two of my trip. Me and my friends reserved for 3 nights and just needed to push it one more night before flying home so we stayed four nights. Annabel and Samantha were the hostess with the mostest. Our early morning tours began days before arriving in Chiang Mai and I was beat. My three year old son was beat too. Annabel let us order our dinner before we arrived and we enjoyed a deeeelicious gourmet dinner, nicely spiced with a few carafes of the wonderful red wine. We were in heaven and why didn't we get there sooner. We had booked some tours but next time I visit, and there will be a next time, I will spend more time lounging at the bnb and taking a bike ride or walking around the neighborhood. My son Jamie was attached to Samantha's hip and she was a natural with a 3 year old. I live in NYC and everytime I am stressed, which is a common occurance, I think of Dreamcatchers and visualize about the next time I'll be visiting. Thank you Annable, Samantha, Luke and the Thai Crew!!!!
We miss you.....

"My Home away from home .."
Apr 29, 2009
I reached Chiang Mai, while the Red Shirts were busy creating chaos in Bangkok, just before the Songkran week.
The personalized pick up from the airport was refreshing.
The most charming Canadian-French owneress loves Chiang Mai and knows all the sights and places to visit and things to do.
Reaching Dreamcatchers was quicker than i expected .. 20 minutes from the airport.
The first thought that came to mind was .. I am home .. A charming home away from home .. personalised, cozy, dreamy ..
A lovely room .. neat and clean and done up very tastefully. The bathrooms were fabulous ..
A lovely circular kitchen .. I enjoyed a lovely breakfast on the verandah. One can eat indoors, in the dining hall or on the verandah.
The wifi was a little kinky, going on and off, but managed to download my e mails .. and i believe the same is under review.
The evening into Chiang Mai was fabulous .. a walk around the night bazaar .. good shopping. No water showers - unluckily.
Dinner at Marco's and then the nightspots. The locals and the tourists mingle easily .. to create a fabulous nightlife.
The next morning I discovered the infinity pool at Dreamcatchers .. infinite pleasure. Nice sun .. for anyone wanting a quick tan.
A perfect place to relax and unwind from the daily pressures of life.
I can only say that even though my visit was short .. it was like a dream come true ..
Kudos to Dreamcatchers .. B&B.
"A Beautiful Haven..."
Apr 15, 2009
My husband and I stayed at the Dreamcatchers Bed and Breakfast for three nights in early March. The owner (Annabel) and her staff took very good care of us, the food was excellent, the rooms are very clean and so beautifully decorated. The pool and grounds are kept in immaculate condition...it was a beautiful haven for us as we christened our first trip to Thailand. We met a wonderful family from the U.S., everyone was friendly and a joy to be with. Fond memories were made and we are really looking forward to visiting this beautiful place again...we came back home and already we miss it.
I strongly recommend this B & B.
"Best in Thailand"
Apr 14, 2009
I was part of a group of four birdwatchers. We arrived late (about 10 P.M.) and were met by a concerned hostess (Annabel) who immediately saw to our welfare including preparing a late meal when she found out we hadn't eaten. As birdwatchers, our hours were erratic. We awoke early to get to destinations at first light. Annabel saw to it that, though very early, we had coffee and breakfast and that our needs (laundry service, etc.) were met immediately as they arose. The facilities were very tasteful, the service impeccable and our stay there was far and away the most enjoyable accommodation experience of our month in Asia. I strongly recommend "Dreamcatchers" to others and intend to stay there again.
Charming Dreamcatchers B&B is a fabulous place to relax and get away from it all - true paradise!
Apr 8, 2009
We loved staying at the Dreamcatchers B&B! It was extremely relaxing and the quiet country setting was perfect. Our first two nights we stayed in downtown Chiang Mai, but the change to a bed and breakfast in a more rural setting was so much better. Annabel is a terrific hostess, as well as her daughter Sammie. The attentive staff at Dreamcatchers also added to our enjoyment. The food was excellent - it was so nice to have home-cooked gourmet meals after traveling in Asia for several weeks. Annabel is a wonderful chef who really goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. We feel we left with several new lifelong friends, as a bed and breakfast allows you the chance to become more acquainted. Everyone was great with our children (14,12, and 7) and they loved swimming in the pool next to the river. Dreamcatchers was so enjoyable that some days we just chose to stay and relax by the pool. On the days that we did go sight-seeing, Annabel was very helpful in arranging transportation and making suggestions. She even scheduled massages for us by the pool upon our return one evening. The guest rooms were well-maintained and beautifully decorated, as was the main house, where we always felt at home. We initially planned on staying just 2 days, but extended our stay to an entire week. It's a place we will definitely want to stay again when we come back to charming Chiang Mai!
"Best Accommodations Best Hostess"

Anabel is a wonderful, warm, and caring hostess, and made my stay even more enjoyable by helping me plan day trips, caring for my pet while I was out and always there with a smile on her face as she helped me navigate a new and exciting country. I highly recommend her b and .Probably one of the best vacation experiences ever!

travel accomodations don't usually manage to combine the magic of the exotic location with the sense of calm serenity and luxury my friends and i enjoyed at "dreamcatchers"b&b.not only were we welcomed to enjoy the main salon, including a great place to gather, dining on anabell and samantha's wonderful culinary offerings, but we were made to feel that there was no request , from arranging soothing massages by accomplished, temple trained local practioners to transportation that could'nt be had.I had'nt expected the infinity pool, what a delight, immaculate and totally refreshing.the only difficulty i felt was weather to leave our beautiful room and see beautiful thailand,or relax in the lap of luxury.did i mention real coffee.it can be fun to "rough it"when travelling, but do treat yourself to a visit to "dreamcatchers" again, thanks anabell!
Jan 17, 2009
My sisters and I had not met for 3 years.......one family in India, the other in Perth and the third in Japan........tough to coordinate holidays and work schedules!
We wanted to have a beautiful, peaceful setting where we could relax and just be 'us'! Anabel Laroque's Dreamcatchers was the perfect place and we started making plans as early as July of 2008. None of us had been to Chiangmai before and we were so excited. Even better was that we were going to be able to take all three rooms and have the whole place just to ourselves!
Then came the civil disturbance in Bangkok and it was escalating so close to our travel dates that we were about to cancel the whole Chiangmai trip! Thank goodness, it was resolved and flights re-started and we finally made it to Chiangmai.
Anabel and her beautiful daughter Sammi made out stay an absolutely memorable one! We had the most wonderful breakfasts, meals that were served when we decided we didn't really want to make that long songtau (is that how it is spelled?) trip to town, a Christmas eve potluck feast where friends all brought homemade dishes, a gift to put under the christmas tree, music and much laughter. It was truly home away from home but with a huge touch of the exotic. We were pampered no end by Anabel and Sammi.
All of us being animal lovers, we so enjoyed having their dogs and cats move about freely with the guests! The staff were well-trained and quietly went about their jobs making sure that everything was just the way it should be.
We didn't do too much of anything else but relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, the wonderfully decorated rooms that DreamCatchers offered.
Thank you, Anabel and Sammi, for the exquisite experience that we had at your resort! And thank you also for tolerating our craziness!

Thank you Annabel for sharing your 'open house' hospitality with us this past New Year.
I appreciated your generosity of time and friendship, especially your beautiful art collection, delicious French inspired dinners, fresh percolated coffee waiting each morning and the effort you put into trips out around Chiang Mai. Time spent at the old temple in the local forest, the lovely restaurant in Loi Kroh Street and Ban Tawi markets were all made possible by sharing your extensive local knowledge.
I came to appreciate your immediate neighbourhood on bicycle, where I discovered the lotus lagoon, the silver temple, the beautiful Lanna-style architecture with glimpses of extensive gardens and other hidden treasures. It was a perfect final Sunday spent relaxing by the pool and enjoying a massage from 'the temple ladies' , appreciating the silence of rural Thailand. The lush gardens, stream, architecture and comfort all contributed to a memorable retreat for me.

Your guesthouse is a such beautiful place to stay…
We do love the ambience, the food, the sound of surrounding nature… everything…! We also appreciate your hospitality :)
Thank you for all – both big and small things you both have done to make us comfortable. We’ve particularly enjoyed the excellent food you’ve whipped up for us…
We loved the Jacuzzi although the swimming pool was too cold to get in at this time of the year.

"A Dream Caught..."
Dec 16, 2008
DreamCatchers is aptly named. The owner Annabelle LaRoque has captured that elusive, indefinable quality that makes something special. And this is a special place to stay. The warm, down to earth hospitality of Annabelle and her daughter Sammi is the icing on an already beautiful cake. The buildings are in a traditional style, yet the interior of our room (the junior suite) had a timeless feel – beautifully decorated (with the kind of detail that reflects someone who understands travellers needs away from home) with superb amenities. We stayed for 4 days from 22-26th November 2008 … and our biggest decision each day was whether we should head out to explore all that Chiang Mai has to offer or just stay ‘home’ and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We highly recommend DreamCatchers – either as a base that you will sink back into after a hard days touristing, or as a place to unwind if you are visiting for R&R. The infinity pool and its surrounds are the perfect spot to just relax and enjoy. And the area is so quiet at night, it was hard to believe that we were just minutes from the city centre. We will be back!

"A little dream of it's own - Made even more magical by the warnm touches"
Oct 9, 2008
A Little Dream of it's own made even more magical by the warm touches of the owner who personally takes care of everybody's individual needs.
My friend and I stayed there for 5 days from September 12th to September 17th, and we can't think of a better choice than this
The place is beautiful, and the rooms are impeccably clean and truly comfortable as the décor has the utmost details reflecting care and warmth.
The pool is a delight, and the massages from the Temple ladies nearby make it a perfect way to start or end the day...
Annabel, the owner, who is a French Canadian lady, not only made us feel like we were in our own home, but truly cared for us in all our needs and doubts which would not be so in a big hotel.
She actually made us feel very special. The meals were wonderful and even there, Annabel made sure we had the best and catered to our special request, even if they were not on the B & B's menu.
She also organized all our tours which wa a breeze for us and a time saving factor; allowing us more leisure time by the pool or just relaxing by the canal, rather than spending umpteen hours looking and negotiating for the best deals....
It is not in the centre of town (20 minutes away), but not a problem to get to and fro, and well worth it, for the peaceful and beautiful surroundings which are ideal to cycle around.
There are 2 beautiful temples on the small road that leads to the B & B; the first one is all Gold and the 2nd one is all Silver, and they are both stunning.
The historical site of Wiang Kum Kam is a mere 3 Kms away, and is a good bike ride in the early morning; one can catch a local boat ride from there, and have a picnic at a nearby city landing....
All in all....Just a GREAT place, wonderful management, and lots of loving care, which is what one really needs and desires when on a holiday far away from home in a different culture and country....

“Chiang Mais Best Kept Secret”
Apr 8, 2008
On our recent travels in Thailand, my husband and I visited Chiang Mai in the north, where after the hustle and bustle of cities and travelling, we were delighted and rejuvenated by our stay at Dreamcatchers B&B situated 15-20minutes from the airport.
The very comfortable accommodation, extremely tasteful furnishings and decor, the beautiful garden, the swimming pool and bar, the friendly staff, service and more, made it the most perfect stay.
Annabel, a French Canadian lady who built, owns and runs this charming oasis, is an amazing and wonderful hostess and we wish her much success.
Check it out for yourself on the website.
We will be back!!

“Relaxation - Homely Hospitality with owner Annabel Larocque and staff”
Jan 25, 2008
Arriving in Chiang Mai Thailand for the first time on a 2 day stopover enroute from Australia to India we were pleasantly surprised by no.1 Good roads, as living in Bangalore we are used to bad roads, so this was a great start!
French Canadian owner of Dreamcatchers B and B Annabel Larocque is by far the most gracious and kind hostess completely dedicated and attentive to all our needs. Her place is just breathtakingly beautiful with superb garden, and amazing infinity swimming pool. With bar right beside you ready to quench your thirst with whatever takes your fancy, this is a ' must ' for the weary traveler! It was marvelous to chill out and completely relax.
Only about 15 mins from the airport and the main shopping areas of Chiang Mai, it is an excellent getaway.
The gateway to the North , there are many interesting trips one can make to explore this friendly country. The Thai people are so helpful and friendly and Annabels staff are exactly that!.
Annabel’s cuisine is excellent, and she will rustle up whatever you fancy at the drop of a hat. Dreamcatchers is definitely one place not to miss on your visit to Thailand. My husband Steve and I thoroughly recommend Dreamcatchers, as our stay here exceeded our expectations. Great for families also.
We shall be back!!
“Loved the place and its people”
Jan 21, 2008
I stayed at Dreamcatchers from Dec. 26 till Jan. 2ed. It was my first time in Chiangmai and I fell in love with it. (Both the city and the Inn).
I have known Annabel for close to thirty years now and was still surprised with the level of taste, attention to small details and the total charm of her Inn. Her staff is totally charming, friendly and helpful in every way.
I will defiantly be returning for more visits in the future and recommend the Inn to anyone choosing Chiangmai as a destination.
The pictures of our holiday are realy great! We are veeeery happy that we choose your accommodation....thanks....I will tell everybody....
I hope you will get a lot of guests this year, and good luck with everything!!!
